Bad Bunny Urges Puerto Ricans to Follow Their Hearts in Election Decision
On Puerto Rico’s Election Day, November 5, Bad Bunny cast his vote at Saint John’s School in San Juan, sporting a classic salsero look with sunglasses, a half-buttoned shirt, and burgundy pants. After voting, he took the opportunity to share a message for those still uncertain about their choice. “Listen to your heart,” he encouraged, as reported by Telemundo Puerto Rico.
Bad Bunny emphasized his confidence in Puerto Rican voters, saying, “At the end of the day, the people of Puerto Rico know what’s best. We’re not fools. Puerto Ricans are smart and courageous. I trust that they know which choice will serve Puerto Rico best.”
This message follows his recent endorsement of Juan Manuel Dalmau Ramírez, the Puerto Rican Independence Party’s candidate for governor. Reflecting on his support, he encouraged voters to consider the future generations. “Think about your children and grandchildren, about the future of our people and those who’ve had to leave but want to return. Listen to your heart, not the lies others want you to believe,” he urged.
The artist also shared his thoughts on Instagram Stories, highlighting the challenges Puerto Ricans face when voting, particularly after natural disasters. “Yes, the power may go out, machines may fail, and the weather might not cooperate. But don’t give up. Let’s exercise our right to vote and protect it. It’s going to be a tough day, but it’s worth it. I’ve voted! Go out there and vote, Puerto Rico – for our present and our future,” he posted.
Known for his advocacy, Bad Bunny has previously shown support for Kamala Harris and stood up against disparaging comments by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who described Puerto Rico disrespectfully during a political rally in New York City.
