Bad Bunny Joins Adam Sandler in 'Happy Gilmore' Sequel
Reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny is set to make his mark in the world of comedy by joining Adam Sandler in the highly anticipated sequel to the classic 1996 film, Happy Gilmore.
The news was confirmed by Sandler on Instagram, who shared a photo of Happy's Boston Bruins jersey and the caption, "It ain't over... The way I see it... we've only just begun." This marks the beginning of production for the sequel, which will see the return of original cast members Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has already made a name for himself in the acting world. He made his debut in the Netflix series Narcos: México in 2021 and has since appeared in films like Bullet Train and Cassandro. His role in the Happy Gilmore sequel will undoubtedly add a new dimension to his acting career.
The original Happy Gilmore film followed the story of a failed hockey player who discovers a talent for golf and competes in paid tournaments to save his grandmother's house. The sequel is expected to continue the story, with Sandler reprising his iconic role as Happy Gilmore.
The film will be directed by Kyle Newacheck, who also directed the 2019 comedy Murder Mystery starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
